Easy assembly of the LED exhibition wall
You don't need any tools to set up an ALU STAR LED exhibition wall. An intuitive color coding system shows you what belongs together when setting up an LED exhibition wall. Thanks to the practical plug-in technology, the elaborately manufactured aluminum profiles simply slide into each other. Once you have joined all the profiles together, they connect to form a high-quality, stable illuminated frame. You can present the LED exhibition wall as a free-standing display by equipping it with sturdy feet. You attach these to the frame of the system with two simple hand screws. This is child's play and even inexperienced people can do it. Once you have finished assembling the basic structure of the illuminated wall, you can mount the individual graphic covering. We produce large-scale illuminated slides on foldable slide material in our in-house print shop. After printing, our sewing department sews it all around with a silicone welt and then stretches it into the illuminated frame. This process ensures a wrinkle-free presentation of your key visual.
Accessories for the LED exhibition wall
ALU STAR illuminated walls can, of course, also be set up "as a corner" to form an LED exhibition stand. With the appropriate corner connectors, the walls are tight and stable together. Appropriate system connectors are also available for fixed connection to a straight illuminated wall. Other accessories include monitor holders for screens weighing up to 10 kg and eye-catching bridge modules.
Handling an LED exhibition wall – explained step by step
LED exhibition walls create a strong presence at events and increase attention at your booth. What surprises many: despite their impressive impact, handling them is remarkably simple. Once you understand how a illuminated wall works, you can use it effortlessly. This guide explains the entire process – from planning and setup to later use, transport, and logistics.
1. Preparation and Planning
Before setting up an LED exhibition wall, it all starts with good planning. First, you need to determine what wall size really makes sense – not only visually, but also in terms of the available stand space and the desired message. Depending on the trade fair appearance, a single illuminated wall may be sufficient, or several LED exhibition walls can be combined to form a complete LED exhibition stand. Our illuminated exhibition walls are modular in design and can be expanded to create small, medium, or large-format booth solutions.
The modular design means that the construction is not rigid. Different wall sizes can be combined, expanded, or adapted later if your needs change. Additional accessories can also be included in the design: illuminated exhibition counters, LED platforms, digital displays, or storage modules. This allows the LED exhibition wall to grow into a complete, modern exhibition stand that can be flexibly adapted to different stand areas and concepts as required.
Once the format is set, the next step is planning the visual design. Illuminated surfaces are particularly effective when the imagery is clear, allowing the message to be grasped quickly. Here, it is advisable to use contrasts, shorten key messages, and choose images carefully. Visitors decide within a few seconds whether to stop and look. A clear, concise design ensures that your message is understood immediately. During the planning stage, it is also decided whether the LED exhibition wall will be used as a freestanding element or integrated into an existing stand concept. Depending on the location, the lighting can later be supplemented by other light sources or deliberately left to stand alone.
2. 3D visualization – see your exhibition stand before production
To ensure you know exactly how your booth will look later, we create realistic 3D visualizations of your LED exhibition walls and illuminated counters upon request. A 3D visualization shows the different wall formats and planned motifs from an accurate perspective. This allows you to see how your booth will appear, how your logo is positioned, and whether key content is visible from afar. Visualization helps you make confident decisions: size proportions, design elements, positioning of exhibition counters, exhibits, or product displays become clear and can be optimized accordingly. Adjustments can be made quickly and without additional costs in the later production process. This gives you a binding price range for all advertising displays used before implementation – and at the same time a realistic picture of your future exhibition stand.
3. Graphic design – our design service for strong visuals
An LED exhibition wall shines only when the design is executed professionally. Light reveals everything – including weaknesses in the design. That's why we offer our own design service that is specifically geared toward LED exhibition systems. We develop suitable layouts based on your brand, your product, and the trade fair where the illuminated exhibition wall will be used. All we need is your logo, relevant images, and text. We use these building blocks to create a motif that is quickly understood and makes optimal use of the luminosity. We can also revise existing designs or prepare them correctly for the LED exhibition stand. Many print data files need to be specially adapted so that they look their best when backlit. Thanks to our experience and data checking, we avoid errors and ensure a professional result.
4. Production of foldable covers in our in-house print shop
To ensure that the LED exhibition wall shines in full quality later on, it is important to use the right printing material. For this reason, we produce all graphic covers ourselves in our in-house print shop. We use textiles that have been specially developed for backlit surfaces. They guarantee vibrant colors, even light distribution, and a high-quality surface without reflective effects. The cover is foldable, washable, easy to handle, and suitable for frequent use. It can be transported, stored, and reused without any problems. The surrounding rubber edging is precisely manufactured so that the fabric fits tightly into the system. Each cover is checked before it leaves our premises – so that everything fits perfectly right away during setup.
Thanks to our complete in-house production, we can also realize short-term projects. Express orders, spontaneous trade fair bookings, or last-minute motif changes can be implemented without any problems. High speed without any loss of quality: that is our advantage over outsourced production.
5. Unpacking and sorting at the exhibition location
The practical assembly begins at the installation site. The aluminum profiles with the pre-assembled LED modules, power supplies, feet, connectors, and graphic prints are unpacked and sorted clearly. This facilitates assembly and prevents incorrect connections. Many profiles are labeled or color-coded so that it is immediately clear which parts belong together. There are stickers on the system base with two QR codes that link to PDF assembly instructions and a video. You can also find many assembly videos on our YouTube channel. In many cases, a single employee can easily handle the assembly, but for large wall formats, a second helper is recommended.
6. Assembling the illuminated frame
The aluminum profiles of the illuminated system are assembled into a frame without the need for tools. The LED modules are already installed in the aluminum profiles. Depending on the exhibition system, the feet are either already attached to the base of the system frame or are fastened to the lower system frame with wing screws. To stabilize larger illuminated frames, matching inner crosses are available that are screwed into the aluminum profile from the inside. The profiles also contain the power supply to the LED modules. Here, too, the clearly marked plugs are simply connected and the LED modules are ready to go. Once the illuminated frame is fully connected, check that all parts are correctly locked together. A level standing surface facilitates further assembly and ensures optimum tensioning of the graphic.
7. Attaching the textile graphic print
The aluminum profiles have a groove on the front and back that runs around the entire frame. The graphic cover is inserted into this groove using a pre-mounted rubber lip. On our YouTube channel, you can find a video showing you how easy it is to insert the graphic cover here. Work step by step from corner to center and back to corner until the fabric is taut. Only now does the fabric covering, which is specially designed for the LED frame, reveal its full effect: the illuminated surface shines through the graphic brilliantly, wrinkle-free, clean, and seamless.
8. Final installation, testing and fine adjustment
Now the LED exhibition wall is switched on. The entire surface lights up evenly, showing whether all modules are properly connected. The lighting operates at around 6,500 Kelvin – a bright, neutral white daylight that displays colors accurately and creates strong contrast. The LED modules regulate their brightness automatically, ensuring the graphic appears in perfect light without manual adjustments.
After that, it's just a matter of fine-tuning: slightly straightening the exhibition wall, aligning it in the room, or making small corrections to its position. The light surface stands out, makes an impact, and draws attention directly to your message.
9. Trade fair usage, disassembly and transport
During the trade fair, an LED exhibition wall works reliably without maintenance. Disassembly is carried out in reverse order to assembly. The fabric covering is folded up and the frame modules and technical components are neatly packed away. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the entire wall fits into transport bags or cases and is easy to store. The foldable fabric covering and modular design ensure that the system remains durable, flexible, and easy to transport. It can be used as often as required – with different graphic prints, campaigns, or trade fair dates as needed.
10. Logistics & storage – safe, clean and ready anytime
Our service does not end after the trade fair. Many companies prefer not to handle storage themselves. For this reason, we take care of it. After use, the illuminated walls and other exhibition stand equipment can be shipped back to us. Before storage, we inspect all components for damage, completeness, and functionality. If necessary, individual segments are replaced, cleaned, and professionally packed again. The entire system is then stored with us – dry, protected, and ready for use at any time. Graphic prints are also checked, cleaned if needed, and stored separately and carefully.
So our customers don't have to worry about storage space, transport crates, or their own logistics. When the next event comes around, we prepare the LED exhibition wall, check all components, and deliver it to your location on time. This saves time, reduces effort, and ensures that your team can concentrate fully on planning the exhibition.
